SEATTLE - Touring has simply become a way of life for the three members of MxPx. It began in 1993 with the release of their first record during the summer between their Junior and Senior year in high school and continues globally, supporting the numerous albums recorded by this Washington trio.
From Sydney to San Francisco and Ljubijana to New York, the band's ever-growing group of adoring fans is consistently seeking their sold out tours. Towards the end of a summer of touring on The Warped Tour and with Blank 182, the band decided to document their live performance and recorded "At The Show". A collection of band and fan favorites recorded in Philadelphia and Washington D.C., the show was captured on tape by Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton of ALL and Descendents glory. Tom said, "It was great to work with two guys that have musically inspired us for so long." First thing Bill asked me was, "What do you quest for in a guitar sound?"
Their youthful energy and excitement comes across in the Live Recording in a way that a studio recording could never capture.
Released on ToothandNail Records and the band's own, Rock City Recording Company, "At The Show" contains 23 tracks, including the radio friendly "Chick Magnet" and "I'm Ok, You're Ok". The album opens with "Tomorrow's Another Day" and has you singing along with the crowd throughout. The live recording spans the band's five studio albums including "Want Ad" (Pokinatcha) "Dolores" (Teenage Politics) "Middle Name" (Life In General) "Under Lock and Key" (Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo) "G.S.F." (Let It Happen) and closes with the band's anthem "Punk Rawk Show"! "At the Show", with it's long running time and studio quality sound, captures a snapshot of MxPx.
