Dave Pettigrew

How long have you been writing and performing Christian music and what is your motivation for doing so?

Artist:  I have been writing and performing Christian music for the last 4 years.  We started this project back in February of 2004 when we started working on the first CD “Somebody I’m Supposed To Be”.  Our main goal in all of this is to just draw people closer to God through the music that God has given us and the live shows.

Tell us about your current project ‘Every Minute Miracles’ and why you chose that title.

ARTIST:  Every Minute Miracles is the latest CD that we released in November of 2007.  We are really proud of both the writing & the production on the release.  The writing is stronger & has a lot more meaning for us on this album.  The title is a line from one of the songs that Frank Di Minno, my producer & cowriter, wrote called “Big Enough”.  I like the idea that all around us there are miracles happening, some that we can see & some that we are completely oblivious to.  The rain, the sun, the sky, wind, a baby crying, someone being saved in the hospital, faith…all every minute miracles that surround us & give us a glimpse into who God is & where God is….surrounding us at all times.

I notice that many of the songs on ‘Every Minute Miracles’ have been co-written with Frank Di Minno, how did this come about?

ARTIST: Frank and I have known each other for over 15 years.  We met at Berklee College of Music where we both went to school.  Back then we had no idea that we would be writing & performing Christian music but God has a funny way of putting people together & then building a relationship that ultimately serves His purpose. Pretty cool stuff when you think about it.  We meet so many years ago & the reason for the meeting, aside from just being great friends, is to touch people’s lives through the music that God gave us.

Do you have a favorite song on the new album and if so which one, and why does it mean so much to you?

ARTIST: As a writer/artist, I really don’t have one favorite because I love them all or else I wouldn’t have put them on the CD but….I guess I’d have to go with “Change (Follow Me)”.  That song works for me on so many levels.  It was basically inspired by the story in the new testament where Jesus walks around & chooses his disciples & literally just says to them “follow me” and they get up and leave everything that they’re doing and follow Him.  I challenge myself with that almost daily, if Jesus walked up to us and said “OK, drop it all and follow me”, would we leave.  No phone calls, no e-mails, just drop it and go….tough decision in the world we live in today.  This song also works for me in the fact that the world today just needs a change.  This is one of the reasons I partnered with World Vision. I wanted the message & the music to be about more than just selling CD’s and putting on great live shows, I wanted to find a way to change lives.  More than 1/3 of the world today is living in extreme poverty…that’s not right.  If we can change a few lives at each show through child sponsorship, then we’re all showing the love of Christ through that small action.  That’s major change….

Congratulations on your award for the En Sound Male CCM artist of the year 2007.  How does it feel to be recognized for your contribution to Christian Contemporary Music?

ARTIST: I can’t lie, it feels great.  I love what Delroy and Ensound Entertainment is doing and to be recognized by your peers is a wonderful thing.  I’ve recently been nominated for 4 Momentum Awards, Male Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary Artist of the Year, Change as song of the year & Every Minute Miracles as album of the year.  This is another great award that will be given out down in Franklin, TN at the end of March.  We’ll be performing “Change” there live which should be a lot of fun.  To cast your vote, please visit:

What have been some of the highlights of your Christian music ministry to this point?

ARTIST:  On my website I have a testimonials page where I post a lot of the comments from listeners & people who have been at the shows.    Having the ability to affect people’s lives through the music that God has given me is an unbelievable feeling. I’m just trying to draw people closer to Him with the gifts that He’s given me.

Where do you go from here, what are your future plans and vision for your ministry?

ARTIST: We’re just trying to follow where God wants us to go. I’m hoping that we can continue this for a long time, change lives & make people aware of the fact that we have a great God up there who is here with us every day and wants to be a part of our lives.

Do you have a final message or thought that you would like to share?

ARTIST:  Thanks so much for reading & for your support.  Just remember to keep your mind, your eyes & your heart open to the every minute miracles that are surrounding us…
