YORBA LINDA, CA - BASIX comes from Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." These are the BASIX of life!
In 1993, BASIX began as a worship team based out of Orange County. Their musical excellence and heart for ministry led to an increasing demand for outside concerts. By September of 1998, BASIX had performed for over 278,000 people at 357 concert settings throughout the U.S. and Eastern Europe. They have sold over 16,500 units of their first three custom recording projects, primarily through sales at concerts.
About two years ago, BASIX performed at a Gospel Music Association Spotlight Competition in Los Angeles. Their brief performance at the competition earned them first place and the opportunity to travel to Nashville and compete on a National level. While there, they had the wonderful privilege to meet and get to know Mr. Robert Sterling who has produced the group's latest recording "Believe". Mr. Sterling is a Dove Award winning songwriter and arranger as well as producer. Among his record producing credits are certified gold albums, "Point of Grace" and "The Whole Truth", by Point of Grace, and the Grammy-nominated recording, "Love Will", by the Talleys.
"Their sound is exciting. Their blend is immaculate. Their music cuts across barriers and goes straight to the heart!"
Over the past few months, Mr. Sterling has worked with BASIX, producing their latest recording, "Believe". This new project features the group's high-powered vocal arrangements across a balanced foundation of solid Christian songs. In addition to original music written and arranged by BASIX group members and Mr. Sterling, the album features new songs by some of the foremost writers in Christian music today, including Scott Krippayne, Pam Thum, and Geoff Thurman. The instrumental tracks include the talents of John Hammond, Tom Hemby, Pat Coil, Chris McDonald, Carl Goredetzky and the Nashville String Machine. The depth and versatility of the group shines through in songs ranging from the adult contemporary title cut "We Believe", the soulful Motown sounds of "He Lifts Me Up", to the inspirational new arrangement of "Come Thou Fount". Their sound is exciting. Their blend is immaculate. Their music cuts across barriers and goes straight to the heart!
